2024-03-14

At the beginning of the new semester, the School of Political Science of National Defense University is exploring a collaborative model of "college+military" talent cultivation - teaching and research achievements serve the frontline training experience, and the series of reports on "frontline commanders teaching preparation for war" are being held as scheduled. Several mid to senior level commanders from various theaters and branches of the military stepped onto the podium to bring the latest developments and fresh experiences of frontline military training and preparation to the trainees. At the same time, the new "Teachers Entering the Theater" activity of the hospital was launched as scheduled. Seven middle-aged and young teaching backbone members went to the Eastern Theater to follow up on training, starting a 2-month substitute training, fully participating in military exercise planning, planning assignments, and conducting evaluations and other training tasks. This is a microcosm of the hospital's increased efforts to open up education and improve the supply level of war talents. In order to achieve precise integration between the supply side of talent cultivation and the demand side of the future battlefield, in recent years, the college has focused on the cultivation of political work talents in joint operations, strengthened joint education, training, research and development with the military, explored the "college+military" talent cultivation cooperation model, and timely brought the college's teaching and research achievements to serve frontline officers and soldiers, as well as military training experience and practices into the college classroom, further improving the quality and efficiency of talent cultivation. Nowadays, it has become a norm for military commanders to enter the hospital for teaching, and instructors and trainees to practice and experience in theater offices and frontline troops more frequently. The college also explores the establishment of a teaching base system of "theater+branches+task forces", has established teaching and research cooperation relationships with multiple units, and has created on-site teaching models such as "root seeking, path seeking, dream seeking", "learning warfare, research warfare, and practice warfare", becoming a characteristic brand of the college's open education. "We fully leverage the 'external brain' role of outstanding military commanders and high-level experts and scholars, effectively improving the quality of talent cultivation and teaching and research level." The leaders of the college introduced that they actively invited military commanders and authoritative experts from other colleges and universities to give lectures on campus, continuously optimizing and expanding the college's part-time professor team. At present, there are over a hundred part-time professors in the college, with the majority being military commanders. They mainly undertake tasks such as giving lectures, conducting research and research, and guiding drills. Some military commanders also serve as student mentors, deeply participating in activities such as drafting teaching plans, devising homework plans, and tackling combat issues. Their rich training experience provides important references for the teaching and research work of the college. The frontline commander stepped onto the podium to teach practical combat strategies, while the teaching and research personnel stepped out of the school gate to hone their combat skills. In order to build a strong team of instructors who are knowledgeable about the war, the hospital actively connects with frontline troops and has selected more than 300 people to participate in theater learning and training, major exercises and training, international peacekeeping and rescue, etc. According to statistics, the proportion of personnel in the faculty of the hospital who have participated in major training tasks and have served as a substitute for combat troops within 5 years continues to rise. More than 30 expert professors have been hired as members of the political work expert pool for combat readiness in the theater of war. The path of dedicating oneself to military training and preparation is becoming wider and wider, and the confidence and confidence of teaching and research personnel in teaching and researching warfare are also increasing. At the beginning of this year, the institute collaborated with a certain base of the Eastern Theater Command Air Force to carry out practical research and training. Experts and professors from a certain teaching and research team, along with several political work cadres from the base, conducted intelligent research and development on the key and difficult issues of political work in combat. At the beginning of this spring semester, this year's graduate school
