The report shows that based on research data and scoring results, the overall dissemination effect of Chinese films on overseas online platforms is commendable. The 2023 "International Communication of Chinese Films" survey takes the overall performance of Chinese films on overseas communication platforms from 2020 to 2022 as a sample, and comprehensively evaluates the dissemination effect of Chinese films on overseas networks from media attention, social platform performance, secondary communication effect, professional platform evaluation, and other aspects from 2020 to 2022. At the press conference of the "Report" jointly organized by the Chinese Culture International Communication Research Institute of Beijing Normal University and the Modern Communication magazine on the same day, Huang Huilin, the project leader of the "Chinese Film International Communication" research project and the director of the Chinese Culture International Communication Research Institute of Beijing Normal University, released the "Report". The report released the top 30 rankings of China's overseas film network communication power from 2020 to 2022. According to research data, the films with good dissemination effects mainly include the following categories: plot films, such as "Balloon", "Day", "Life Events", etc; New mainstream films such as "1921", "Eight Hundred", "Me and My Father", etc; Comedy movies such as "Hello, Li Huanying" and "The Killer is Not Too Calm"; Animated movies, such as "New God List: Yang Jian", etc; Action movies, such as Anger: Serious Cases, etc. According to the report, based on semantic analysis of media coverage on Google News, it can be observed that the terms "best", "honor", and "top" have the highest frequency of appearance, including high-frequency words such as "love", "outstanding", and "fan", indicating that Chinese movies have received more praise in international mainstream media. At the same time, the report reflects the effect of the secondary dissemination of the targeted Chinese films on YouTube and the performance of the targeted films on overseas professional film review websites such as IMDB (Internet Film Database), rotten tomatoes, mailboxes, and TMDB (Film Database). From social media data, it can be seen that the group with 200000 to 1 million followers on Twitter has a high correlation between the number of comments and the number of likes they receive. "Life Events" has gained excellent attention and discussion on overseas social media. At the end of the report, a plan and path were proposed to accelerate the construction of a strong film cultural country during the 14th Five Year Plan period, such as rebuilding the evaluation system for Chinese film overseas dissemination. The first is to rebuild the film dissemination evaluation system and seize the initiative of secondary dissemination; The second is to give full play to the subjectivity of Chinese culture, acknowledge differences, and "draw concentric circles well"; The third is to do a good job in cultural inheritance and share the mission of promoting ideological and cultural values. Chinese films should strengthen the dialectical integration of nationalization and modernization, with a nationalized creative orientation, aesthetic spirit, and cultural awareness, to consolidate the unique discourse content with Chinese characteristics.
