Three generations of female pilots in the Air Force, two sessions in the same frame: Flying is not only a profession, but also a belief

The three generations of female pilots in the Air Force and the two sessions are in the same frame: Flying is not only a profession, but also a belief. Pilots Chen Jinlan (center), Zhang Xiao (right), and Li Wanxin (left) take a group photo at the headquarters of the People's Liberation Army and the People's Armed Police Force. This is a dialogue that crosses the long river of history, captured by Song Pengfei, a journalist from China Military Network. On March 8th, 72 years ago, the first batch of female pilots in New China flew straight into the sky, flying over Tiananmen Square, and accepting the Party and the people's inspection for the first time. A brand new trajectory marks the blue sky of the capital, and the dream of independent soaring of Chinese women in the blue sky has come true. Today, during the Chinese People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, we will once again celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th. Female military representatives will offer suggestions and actively fulfill their duties. Among them, three female pilots walked happily with spring as their charm - Chen Jinlan, the seventh batch of female pilots in the Air Force, was the "dual material" captain of the Y-9 and Y-20 transport planes, as well as the Y-9 flight instructor who was competent in teaching all subjects and carrying out diversified military tasks around the clock; Zhang Xiao, the eighth batch of female pilots in the Air Force, was one of the first female pilots of fighter jets, flying the "Flying Leopard" fighter jet into the sky; Li Wanxin, the tenth batch of female pilots in the Air Force, fought alongside Yun-9 on the front line of transportation and delivery missions. Devoted to the clouds and chasing dreams in the distance, three generations of female pilots share their deep affection for the vast blue sky. Fenfei is a pilot and also a fighter. Chen Jinlan, a National People's Congress representative and Air Force special pilot, is preparing to participate in the Y-20 aircraft flight training. During her time at the Flight Academy, Chen Jinlan was deeply impressed by the catchphrase of the older generation of female pilots - "Three feet above the ground, no distinction between men and women." (Photo by Wang Ruijie). Indeed, there is no distinction between men and women on the battlefield. Those who wear military uniforms are like combatants, and when they put on flying suits, they must be ready to take off for battle at any time. Chen Jinlan has a deeper understanding of this sentence. In the imagination of reporters, Chen Jinlan is definitely a tough "woman" who can handle large tonnage "chubby girls" and handle various urgent and dangerous tasks. However, in front of her, her figure is relatively petite, giving people a strong sense of contrast. Li Wanxin also has the same feeling. As a transport plane pilot, in her eyes, Chen Jinlan is undoubtedly a role model and a benchmark. "She is a top-notch pilot highly respected by male pilots, and in the matter of flying, she has achieved gender equality." When she was a flight student, Li Wanxin was seen by the instructor as a girl who never gave up and never lowered her standards just because she was a female pilot. During a mission, the plane encountered clouds and was unable to fly around, only able to enter the clouds. In the end, the plane descended to three to four hundred meters before piercing through the clouds and visually observing the ground. This experience made Li Wanxin realize how necessary it is to cultivate hard skills that can be fought at all times and achieved in all areas. Nearly 8000 hours, this is Chen Jinlan's safe flight duration. But she knew in her heart that when it comes to connecting with the future battlefield, transport pilots should not only focus on power delivery, but also highlight their identity as "fighters". For the first time participating in combat duty, when Chen Jinlan saw her name appear on the battle sequence list, she said she was very proud at that moment. "Wherever the interests of our country lie, our strategic delivery force must be extended. Only with strong winning skills can we have the courage to shine the sword.". That police patrol mission
