An important window for observing the entire process of people's democracy in China

The world's attention is once again focused on Beijing, observing China's democratic political practice through the window of the Two Sessions. Many overseas people have realized through personal experience and in-depth observation that people's democracy in the whole process has played an indispensable role in the construction of Chinese path to modernization, and has also provided other countries with Chinese experience to share. Massi, an Argentine student studying abroad, is a doctoral student majoring in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at the School of Literature, Jilin University. His initial understanding of Chinese democracy came from his mentor. Professor Yu Ping, Ma Xi's mentor, previously served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Changchun Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Jilin Province. She was elected as a representative of the Provincial People's Congress last year and regularly conducted research and submitted opinions and suggestions to relevant departments. Her every opinion was respected, which left a deep impression on Massey. What Ma Xi feels is an important function of the entire process of people's democracy in China - to widely listen to the opinions of the people. This can be seen from the composition of the members of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Congress: National People's Congress deputies are elected from grassroots levels, from all regions, ethnic groups, and aspects of the country. In the 14th National People's Congress, nearly 40% of the representatives were frontline workers, farmers, and professional and technical personnel. Members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference come from various political parties, people's organizations, ethnic groups, and various sectors. Moreover, the 45 grassroots legislative contact points established by the Legal Work Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress across the country have driven the establishment of more than 6500 legislative contact points by provincial and municipal people's congresses. They serve as a "direct link" for grassroots and public participation in legislative work, flexibly utilizing methods such as research, discussion, argumentation, hearing, and evaluation to fully absorb public opinion. Luis Rene Fernandez, senior researcher of the Center for International Economic Research at the University of Havana, Cuba, pointed out that Chinese path to modernization is based on people's real participation in the democratic system, which ensures that people's interests can be taken into account when formulating development strategies and plans. Ronnie Lins, director of the Brazilian Center for China Studies, believes that the entire process of people's democracy involves the people in the entire political process, achieving effective participation of the people and meeting the interests and needs of the people. Widely absorbing public opinion requires not only fully reflecting the wishes of the people in government decision-making, but also fully utilizing the wisdom of the people and gathering their strength. Only by developing people's democracy throughout the process and constantly realizing, safeguarding and developing the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people can we fully stimulate the spirit of ownership of all the people and gather a strong force to work together to promote Chinese path to modernization. The report of the 20th CPC National Congress pointed out that the development of people's democracy throughout the process is one of the essential requirements of Chinese path to modernization. At the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, representatives and members discussed various work reports and legal proposals, put forward bills, proposals, and suggestions... In the view of Walif Kumaha, President of the Lebanese Silk Road Research Institute and Chairman of the Lebanese China Dialogue Road Association, China's full process of people's democracy enables different groups in society to participate in decision-making, cultivates a sense of belonging and shared responsibility among the people, and is conducive to reaching consensus and promoting cooperation among members of society. Tashir Montaz Awan, Director of the China Research Center at the University of Islamabad, Pakistan Southern Science and Technology Commission for Sustainable Development, has attended local public hearings in China
