Since the establishment of the National Medical Insurance Administration in 2018, the adjustment of the medical insurance drug catalog has undergone continuous exploration and has gradually formed a set of management and evaluation index systems that are in line with China's actual situation, and has achieved good results. The current version of the National Medical Insurance Drug Catalogue contains 96 ethnic medicines. At the same time, considering that ethnic medicine is mainly guided by the theory of ethnic medicine and has strong regional and special characteristics in its use, the Interim Measures for the Administration of Medication in Basic Medical Insurance stipulate that provincial medical insurance departments can adjust their powers and procedures according to national regulations, and include eligible ethnic medicine, medical institution preparations, and traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces in the provincial medical insurance payment scope, and implement them after filing according to regulations.
