Located in the national level marine ranch demonstration area 11 kilometers away from the coast of Laizhou City, Shandong Province, is the country's first integrated development research and experimental project of "offshore wind power+marine ranch". The reporter learned from State Grid Laizhou Power Supply Company that the online electricity consumption of this project reached 184.85 million kilowatt hours in the first two months of 2024, and the annual online electricity consumption will exceed 1 billion kilowatt hours. The "Offshore Wind Power+Marine Ranch" project in Laizhou has an installed capacity of 304 megawatts and was fully connected to the grid in March 2023, generating 729.78 million kilowatt hours of electricity that year. Based on an annual grid connected electricity consumption of 1 billion kilowatt hours, the project can save 300000 tons of standard coal consumption, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 780000 tons, sulfur dioxide emissions by 5700 tons, and nitrogen oxide emissions by 8500 tons. Laizhou City is adjacent to the Bohai Sea and is a high wind speed area in Shandong Province, with abundant wind energy resources. In recent years, the local government has developed renewable energy such as photovoltaics and wind power according to local conditions. It is expected that by 2030, the total installed capacity of new energy will exceed 10 million kilowatts, with a total investment of 86 billion yuan, achieving integrated and coordinated development of research and development, equipment manufacturing, and operation and maintenance. The total industrial chain output value will exceed 50 billion yuan. The consumption of new energy cannot be separated from reliable power grid support. As a consumer, State Grid Laizhou Power Supply Company is fully committed to serving the full potential and full consumption of new energy generation, steadily promoting the development of the new energy industry and the large-scale and high-quality development of offshore wind power. The local government is accelerating the construction of the Jiuding 220 kV switchgear project in Yantai, Shandong, and further optimizing the grid structure of the Laizhou power grid to meet the needs of new energy development.
