How can the People's Court implement the spirit of the 2024 Taiwan Work Conference and promote cross-strait integration and development based on the judiciary? What achievements have been made in the establishment of a communication mechanism between the Supreme People's Court and the All China Taiwan Federation over the past two years, and how can we further deepen cooperation? How can the People's Court work together with the Taiwan Federation to promote the high-quality development of judicial work related to Taiwan and better protect the legitimate rights and interests of Taiwanese compatriots? On February 28th, Zhang Jun, Secretary of the Party Group and President of the Supreme People's Court, met with Zheng Jianmin, President of the All China Taiwan Federation, and his delegation to discuss further close communication and liaison. "We should not only summarize the operation of the inventory and contact mechanism, but also take problem oriented research and practical measures to implement the spirit of the Taiwan work conference, and serve the overall situation of the central government's work on Taiwan. Zhang Jun pointed out that judicial work related to Taiwan is directly related to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and serving to ensure the integration and development of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. The people's courts should effectively enhance their political awareness, strengthen their sense of responsibility, work together with the Taiwan Federation to form a joint force to promote the high-quality development of judicial work related to Taiwan, and effectively shoulder the responsibilities and missions assigned by the Party Central Committee. Through good law and governance, Taiwan compatriots should feel fairness and justice in every case trial, and transform it into a source of centripetal cohesion. We must adhere to active justice, carefully summarize our work experience in case handling, communication and liaison, and source of litigation governance, sort out and analyze the common problems encountered in handling Taiwan related cases, and timely propose judicial and work suggestions to the Taiwan Federation and other units, promoting the realization of both root and root causes of Taiwan related conflicts and disputes. We should fully leverage the role of the people's court case library, timely screen and include typical and guiding cases related to Taiwan, and ensure sufficient quantity and full coverage. Further research is needed to explore the relative centralized jurisdiction of Taiwan related cases, and to improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of trials in Taiwan related cases. Each high court should base itself on reality, further strengthen communication and liaison with the provincial-level Taiwan Federation, actively extend its functions, strengthen cooperation and cooperation, and jointly improve the level of judicial work related to Taiwan.
