The Path of Transformation for a Combat Professional
2024-02-28
The "Capability Requirements Portrait" connects the battlefield classroom, which was a summer that Song Min couldn't let go of - the atmosphere in the combat command hall was tense, and the complex aerial situation was presented on screens one by one. The staff members in each seat completed their tasks in an orderly manner, but the communication and cooperation between the guide and the pilot repeatedly encountered problems. After the drill, Song Min and both sides had in-depth communication and finally identified the key issue - this drill closely followed the pace of the Air Force's transformation and strictly followed the newly revised military training outline. Compared with the past, the relationship between pilots and guides, the concept of guidance, and even the language system used in communication have undergone changes. "If we don't make any further changes, the students we cultivate will be eliminated upon graduation." Upon returning from the training ground, as the head of a teaching team at the Air Force Engineering University, Song Min immediately convened team members to focus on discussing the issues discovered during this follow-up survey. The speed of updating and iterating military equipment is getting faster, and the updating of combat concepts is also constantly accelerating. As a combat oriented profession that plans and controls aerial combat operations and is directly applied in preparation for war, what kind of talents should be cultivated? How to cultivate talents who can adapt to the needs of future battlefields? In order to seek answers, Song Min and her team went deep into the frontline of the military and conducted extensive research. In the end, they anchored the direction - relying on the first job position of the graduating students, they drew a "ability requirement portrait" that covered both basic and professional skills. Today, as I walked into the office of the team member, the "Professional Course System Support Diagram" hanging in the most eye-catching position on the wall was developed and evolved based on the "Ability Needs Portrait". Different color blocks such as red, blue, yellow, and green correspond to basic and professional abilities such as decision-making, logic, planning, and adaptability. Lines and arrows connect the ability development chain between different courses. "In the old curriculum system, there were many repetition points and breakpoints." Song Min stood in front of the colorful charts, pointing his fingers in the direction of the arrows as he passed through the courses that were related to continuity. His tone was full of pride: "According to the ability requirements, we formulated training plans one by one, solving various problems in the past, such as incomplete ability coverage, unreasonable course sequence, and unsmooth connection." Last summer, One third of the instructors in the team will use their summer vacation time to continue conducting relevant research in the military and task front lines, participate in training with the officers and soldiers of the task force, continue to sort out new changes in job competency requirements, and adjust and improve the design of talent cultivation. "The award affirms not only the dynamic results at a certain node, but also the direction and momentum of our progress." Currently, the third version of the talent training plan led by the team has entered the stage of argumentation and modification. Regarding the team's unstoppable state, Song Min gave this answer. Accelerating the evolution from "robotic arms" to "engineers" at an Air Force base, a retrospective seminar on multi aircraft adversarial training is underway. As a member of the college training expert group, Qu Hong, a faculty member of the Air Force Engineering University, was surprised to find that the representative of the guide who spoke on stage was Zhao Zheng, a student who had only graduated two years ago. On the podium, Zhao Zheng combined his own practical experience in participating in aerial confrontation
