The 2024 Taiwan Work Conference will be held in Beijing from the 22nd to the 23rd. Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended and delivered a speech. We will steadfastly promote the great cause of national reunification. Wang Huning stated that over the past year, he has been working hard and overcoming difficulties in Taiwan, promoting new progress in cross-strait relations, and consolidating and expanding the international community's adherence to the One China pattern. We must unify our thoughts and actions with the analysis and judgment of the situation in the Taiwan Strait by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the decision-making and deployment of work in Taiwan, and further grasp the strategic initiative to achieve complete reunification of the motherland. Wang Huning stated that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and is a crucial year for achieving the goals and tasks of the 14th Five Year Plan. We must do a good job in Taiwan work with a high sense of responsibility and mission. We must adhere to the One China principle and the 1992 Consensus, promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, and advance the process of national reunification. We need to expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields across the Taiwan Strait and deepen the integration and development of the two sides. To promote the common promotion of Chinese culture on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and promote spiritual harmony among compatriots on both sides. We must adhere to and strengthen the Party's comprehensive leadership over Taiwan work, consolidate and expand the achievements of thematic education, and enhance the synergy of Taiwan work. Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Working Committee, presided over the meeting.
