Encouraging children to "move" should become a broad social consensus
2024-02-07
At the beginning of the winter vacation, many primary and secondary school students started their "sports mode". Chen Youyou, a second year student in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, has different sports in the morning, afternoon, and evening. This winter vacation, more and more parents are realizing that giving their children a healthy body and mind is more meaningful than having a perfect transcript; More and more parents are also taking their children to exercise and cultivate exercise habits. Due to snowfall and cooling in many places, many people have to "shrink" at home. However, there are also some people, especially parents and children, who are not afraid of the resistance of severe cold weather and persist in various sports activities. There is a proverb that goes, "Practice the dog days in summer and the three nines in winter." This indicates that persisting in physical exercise in winter is very beneficial to physical health. Many children, on the other hand, benefit not only from their physical health but also from other aspects when they get active during this winter vacation. According to reports, parents in many places have signed up for various sports training classes for their children. For example, in a children's sports training venue in Beijing, there are significantly more children participating in exercise than usual, and parents who come to consult and sign up are also constantly coming. These parents and children love sports so much not only because they have extra time to exercise during winter vacation, but also because "little glasses" and "chubby little guys" need to "heal" through exercise. According to data from the National Health Commission, the overall myopia rate among children and adolescents in China in 2022 was 53.6%. In addition, nearly one in every five primary and secondary school students is a "chubby little guy". It can be seen that the health problems of the adolescent population are not small. In response, the Ministry of Education requires students to exercise for one hour each day on and off campus, and some places have extended their exercise time on this basis. However, it is difficult to unify the duration of student exercise during winter and summer vacations, mainly relying on students' self-awareness and parental supervision. The children who actively exercise during this winter vacation, as well as the parents who supervise or accompany their children to exercise, are all worth praising. Because physical exercise can benefit children a lot. In addition to relieving visual fatigue and reducing obesity, it can also strengthen their physical fitness and build their spirit, making them more confident; Not only can it shape a child's good psychological qualities, but it can also expand their social circle and bring their parent-child relationship closer. But not every child and parent can see the benefits of exercise. The author noticed that many children during this winter vacation are obsessed with electronic products and often watch videos or play online games; There are also many children attending extracurricular tutoring classes such as language and math classes. The former is not conducive to children's physical and mental health, while the latter violates the "double reduction" regulations. So, not every child is actively exercising during this winter vacation, and a broad consensus is needed to get moving. From a family perspective, when a child leaves school supervision during winter vacation, parents should take on the responsibility of supervising their child's physical exercise. They should not only ensure that the child completes winter vacation sports homework with quality and quantity, but also increase physical activities and extend exercise time according to the child's interests and needs. Among them, accompanying parents to exercise with their children is the best choice, because parents' behavior is a good demonstration for their children, which is much better than verbally urging their children to exercise. From the perspective of the school, it is not enough to simply use statistical tables to supervise students to complete winter sports assignments. Students should also be required to regularly submit photos of participating in physical exercise through relevant groups on their mobile phones
