From January 13 to 18, 2024, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, visited Egypt, Tunisia, Togo, and Cote d'Ivoire. This is the first visit of a Chinese Foreign Minister to Africa in 34 consecutive years. The above visit embodies China's genuine and sincere concept of cooperation with Africa, reflecting China's high attention to Africa and firm support for its development and revitalization. ——The unity and friendship between China and Africa at critical moments are formed through the joint struggle for national liberation, and have been elevated on the journey of common development and revitalization. Recently, 53 countries in Africa that have established diplomatic relations with China have expressed their firm support for the One China principle and the cause of China's peaceful reunification in various forms. Looking back at the history since the founding of the People's Republic of China, African countries have firmly supported issues related to China's core interests and major concerns, fully reflecting the fine tradition of mutual support between China and Africa. As an old friend, good friend, and true friend of Africa, China will always stand with its African brothers, firmly supporting African countries in maintaining independence, sovereignty, and national dignity, and firmly supporting Africa in enhancing its international status and discourse power, becoming an important pole in the development of world politics, economy, and civilization. ——To achieve modernization together, China is marching towards the second centennial goal and comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization. At the same time, Africa is accelerating towards the beautiful vision outlined in the African Union's 2063 Agenda, striving to build a new Africa that is peaceful, united, prosperous, and self reliant. The path towards modernization is diverse and diverse. Promoting integration is a modernization path independently chosen by African countries and peoples. China has always firmly supported and is willing to be a collaborator in exploring the path of modernization in Africa. China has maintained its position as Africa's largest trading partner for 14 consecutive years. The large-scale infrastructure projects such as railways, highways, ports, and electricity that China has assisted or participated in have continuously benefited African people. Flagship projects such as the Mombasa Nairobi Railway, the Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway, and the headquarters of the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention have helped improve people's livelihoods in Africa. From jointly responding to natural disasters to fully implementing the G20 debt relief initiative, from poverty reduction and agricultural benefits in healthcare to digital innovation and green development, China has always been the most trusted partner of African countries. At the China Africa Leaders' Dialogue held in 2023, China announced the launch of the "Support for African Industrialization Initiative", the implementation of the "China Assistance for African Agricultural Modernization Plan" and the "China Africa Talent Training Cooperation Plan". These three major measures cover the areas urgently needed for Africa to achieve modernization, and are also vivid manifestations of China's practical actions in supporting Africa's development.
