Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Wenbin, stated on the 30th that China does not want the tense situation in the Red Sea and is committed to making positive efforts with all parties to alleviate the tense situation in the Red Sea. At the regular press conference on that day, a reporter asked: Will the attack by the Hussein armed forces in the Red Sea have a negative impact on China's trade with Middle Eastern countries? Wang Wenbin said, "The waters of the Red Sea are an important international trade channel for goods and energy. We do not want the situation in the Red Sea to be tense, and we call for an end to the harassment of civilian ships. We advocate for effective respect for the sovereignty of countries along the Red Sea, including Yemen, and are committed to making positive efforts with all parties to alleviate the tension in the Red Sea." Wang Wenbin said that the escalation of the Red Sea situation is rooted in the spillover of the Gaza conflict. Quickly quelling the Gaza conflict will help ease the situation in the Red Sea. "We urge all parties involved in the Gaza conflict to effectively implement the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the General Assembly, immediately cease fire and end the war. The international community should take coordinated action to this end." (Xinhua)
