According to the official website of the National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention, recently, the National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention, together with 12 departments including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Health Commission, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the National Medical Insurance Administration, the China Disabled Persons' Federation, and the Chinese Red Cross Society, jointly issued the "Comprehensive Elimination of Leprosy Hazards and Sustainable Development Plan (2024-2030)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"). The Plan proposes to further consolidate the achievements in basically eliminating the harm of leprosy by 2025, and achieve a national leprosy incidence rate of less than 1% in counties (cities, districts) with a rate of over 1/100000; When leprosy patients complete treatment, the proportion of newly developed grade 2 deformities should be controlled below 3%. By 2030, the goal of completely eliminating the harm of leprosy will be achieved, and the number of counties (cities, districts) with a leprosy prevalence rate greater than 1/100000 in China will be zero; When leprosy patients complete treatment, the newly developed level 2 disability ratio is 0. Taking into account the characteristics of leprosy outbreaks and the epidemic situation in various regions, the "Plan" divides 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps into three categories of areas for classified guidance, classified policies, and coordinated promotion. From six key areas, including "optimizing the prevention and control system, enhancing team capabilities," "strengthening case detection, blocking disease transmission," "standardizing case management, improving treatment effectiveness," "strengthening disability prevention, promoting comprehensive rehabilitation," "strengthening health education, eliminating social discrimination," and "optimizing information management, improving monitoring capabilities," 14 main tasks were proposed, including early detection of patients, dedication to precise treatment, and prevention of new onset disabilities. Emphasize from three aspects: "strengthening organizational leadership, clarifying departmental responsibilities," "strengthening policy guarantees, ensuring sustainable development," and "strengthening scientific research, promoting international exchanges," to ensure the effective implementation of various work tasks and the timely achievement of various work goals. The National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention will work with relevant departments to supervise the implementation of work in various regions.
