Olson expressed his willingness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China in the field of news and communication, including news and information product exchange, personnel exchange, editorial and technical personnel training and seminars, and to provide necessary assistance for the other party to establish offices and dispatch journalists in their own country. Olsen said that as a Pacific island country, Nauru is deeply affected by climate change and faces challenges such as rising sea levels and land erosion. Some coastal land is being submerged, and residential areas and some public service institutions have to relocate to higher areas, facing a large demand for infrastructure construction in the local area. The supply of fresh water for daily life and drinking has always been a challenge for local residents, and global climate change has exacerbated the water crisis, posing even more severe challenges to island residents. Olsen said that he looks forward to Nauru strengthening cooperation with China in the field of climate change in the future, and hopes to introduce innovative technologies of China's green circular economy, promote the landing of "small and beautiful" cooperation projects, and bid farewell to Nauru's dilemma of relying on nature to eat water. Olsen said that Nauru's natural conditions are not suitable for cultivation, and almost all agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits rely on imports, resulting in very high prices. She is very interested in China's mushroom and grass projects in Fiji and Papua New Guinea, and looks forward to more cooperation between Nauru and China in agriculture in the future. In terms of tourism, Olsen said that Nauru has unique tourism resources, and currently the vast majority of tourists come from countries such as Australia and New Zealand.
