Communication | In France, listen to them talk about "My China Connection"
2024-01-24
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. For 60 years, people's hearts have been connected, making the friendship between the two countries everlasting. Recently, the reporter interviewed three French people and listened to them share their life experiences related to China. A tomato, "I have China in my heart." Sonia Bresley is a writer whose intersection with China began in 2005. At that time, she had just graduated with a PhD in philosophy and was in a period of confusion. My research has come to a temporary end, but there are still too many unanswered questions. Therefore, she decided to head east and explore "to the other end of the world" by train. From Paris to Moscow, and in the darkness of Moscow, I boarded the train to Beijing alone. Bresley recalled that there were also two Chinese women in the same private room. "They handed me a beautiful tomato and even invited me to come and sit with them." As we chatted, the tension in the unfamiliar world gradually dissipated, and everyone became friendly. When the car arrived in Harbin, "My travel companion disappeared from the steaming mist at the dumpling stall on the platform.". Bresley recalled these two Chinese women in poetic language, "their packed luggage, flashing and disappearing figures, becoming constantly changing Chinese scenery," and "they opened the door to China to me.". This is the first segment of Bresley's trip to China, which left a deep impression on her. After returning to her home country, she wrote a travelogue about this trip, "From then on, she had China in her heart.". All content related to China has also become vivid. She recalled the novel "The Adventures of the King Buddha" read to her by her parents when she was a child. It was a work by the French writer Usnar, based on classical Chinese legends, telling a Chinese story full of French sentiment. Bresley reread this carefree Eastern legend and experience a different meaning. Later, Bresley traveled to China multiple times and recorded his observations and feelings in writing. Now, she serves as the editorial board member of the French language magazine "Sino French Dialogue", which is a collaboration between China and France. "Why do our two countries need to strengthen dialogue? Because only in this way can we find the path to our hearts," said Bresley. Eating hot pot and listening to stories from the hometown of giant pandas. French civil servant Jerome Puye is a staunch fan of giant pandas. When he was a child, he passed by a shop window and immediately fell in love with a cute black and white doll, making a Christmas wish. A bit older, Puye began searching for everything about giant pandas and even ordered an English version of "Wolong's Giant Panda" from overseas, which was a joint research work by Chinese and American scientists. At the age of 17, at the Versailles Zoo in Paris, Puye had an intimate "face-to-face" encounter with the giant panda "Yan Yan" from China. It was his first time seeing a real giant panda. In 1973, the Chinese side gave the French people two giant pandas, Yan Yan and Li Li, but unfortunately, Li Li passed away the following year. Puye knew that Yan Yan was already old, and fearing regret, he tried to persuade his whole family to drive more than 400 kilometers north to Paris. To this day, Puye still remembers the excitement along the way, let alone the excitement when he saw Yan Yan. In 2002, during the early stages of internet popularization, Puye, who was in college, built his own giant panda information website "pandas. fr" while studying, searching for information on pandas
