According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, as of the end of 2022, the population of elderly people aged 60 and above in China exceeded 280 million, accounting for 19.8% of the total population. According to estimates, around 2035, the elderly population aged 60 and above in China will exceed 400 million, accounting for over 30% of the total population and entering a stage of severe aging. Market institutions predict that by 2050, the total consumption of the elderly population in China will reach 61.26 trillion yuan, and the size of the elderly market will reach 48.52 trillion yuan. In February 2022, the State Council released the "14th Five Year Plan for the Development of National Elderly Care and Elderly Care Service System", which clearly stated the need to vigorously develop the silver economy and strengthen the elderly care product industry. The "Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Strengthening the Work of Aging in the New Era" issued in November 2021 also proposed to actively cultivate a silver haired economy, strengthen planning guidance, and develop the elderly friendly industry. These frequently issued policy documents send clear and strong signals, greatly expanding the development space of the silver haired economy, accelerating the development and expansion of related industries and opening up to the outside world, promoting the continuous upgrading of silver haired consumption, accelerating the release of related consumer demand and vitality, and making the silver haired economy a constantly expanding "new blue ocean".
