Xinhua News Agency (photo provided by the United Nations Postal Administration) The United Nations Postal Administration will issue a special edition of the Chinese Lunar New Year stamp, the Dragon Ticket, in New York on the 19th to celebrate the arrival of the Chinese Lunar New Year. The Dragon Ticket edition consists of 10 stamps with a face value of $1.50 each. The left half of a single stamp features the emblem of the United Nations, while the right half features the auspicious cloud image of a dragon created by Chinese designer Pan Hu. Amidst the auspicious clouds, there are peonies in between. The United Nations Postal Administration first issued stamps featuring the Chinese zodiac in May 2010, and by 2021, the first round of 12 zodiac stamps had been issued. The 2024 Dragon Year stamp is the third stamp of the second round of Chinese zodiac stamps, continuing the design style of the second round of Chinese zodiac stamp plates. The 5 stamps on the left and 5 stamps on the right of the page are mirrored, with the dragon on the left facing the dragon on the right, enhancing the fun. The Dragon Ticket version can be customized on the website of the United Nations Postal Administration, using a personal image instead of the United Nations emblem pattern on the left. The United Nations Postal Administration issues stamps in US dollars, Swiss francs, and euros in New York, Switzerland, and Vienna, Austria, respectively. (Lai Xin She)
