On the afternoon of January 14th, the Ministry of Justice held a national meeting of heads of judicial departments (bureaus). The theme education has been solidly carried out, the political construction of the Party has been comprehensively strengthened, the work of unified and coordinated comprehensive rule of law has been solidly promoted, the quality and efficiency of legislative work have been improved, security and stability have been effectively maintained, the level of legal services has been accelerated, new opportunities have been opened for foreign-related rule of law work, and a strong team has been forged to achieve practical results. New progress has been made in various work, and the new atmosphere of striving for excellence and entrepreneurship throughout the system has become more abundant. The meeting emphasized the need to focus on four aspects of work this year: firstly, adhere to the leadership of the Party's political construction, and achieve new results in enhancing political capabilities and building political loyalty. Consolidate and expand the achievements of thematic education, deepen education on ideals and beliefs, and political awareness throughout the system, focus on improving political sensitivity and discernment, and ensure the deep integration of political construction and professional work. Second, we continued to strengthen professional capacity building and made new achievements in fulfilling our responsibilities around promoting Chinese path to modernization. In terms of legislation, we should closely follow the legislative needs of Chinese path to modernization, strengthen the supply of laws and regulations in key and emerging fields, focus on "small incision" and "small quick" legislation, and improve the quality and efficiency of legislative work. In terms of lawful administration, we will strengthen the functions of legal supervision, law enforcement coordination and supervision, and administrative reconsideration, improve our supervisory capabilities, and promote the improvement of the level of lawful administration. In terms of punishment execution, prison reform, community correction, and placement of assistance and education should be taken as a whole to prevent and reduce the recurrence of illegal activities, and to fully maintain national security and social stability. In terms of public legal services, we will strengthen the guidance, management, and service of the legal team, deepen the popularization of law and mediation work among the public, promote the standardized construction of judicial institutions, adopt more practical measures to facilitate the reduction of certificates and speed up, and provide the people with a stronger sense of access to public legal services. In terms of foreign-related rule of law, we will improve the system of foreign-related laws and regulations, deepen foreign exchanges and cooperation, enhance our foreign-related legal service capabilities, and collaborate to cultivate high-quality foreign-related rule of law talents. Thirdly, we will continue to strengthen the transformation of work style and the implementation of work, and make new achievements in improving work quality and efficiency
