Successful Vacuum Injection Test of Wind Turbine Blades at the World's Highest Altitude in Qinghai
2024-01-08
On January 5th, a successful research experiment on high-altitude wind turbine blade vacuum injection technology was carried out in Golmud City, Qinghai Province, setting a new record for the world's highest altitude wind turbine blades and verifying the possibility of wind turbine blades achieving "zero defects" in high-altitude and low-pressure injection, marking that China's wind turbine blade production technology has advanced to the world's leading level. It is understood that the vacuum injection of wind turbine blades is powered by the pressure difference between atmospheric pressure and the internal pressure of the mold cavity. An increase in altitude and a decrease in air pressure mean that the injection power will quickly decrease, and conventional injection processes may fail. This research on high-altitude wind turbine blade injection technology was conducted on a large blade shell mold with a root node diameter of 3.2 meters, covering almost all onshore blade sizes in China. After multiple stages of testing and verification, the testing team repeatedly discussed and revised the final pouring process plan for the shell, and finally successfully achieved the pouring and curing of both sides of the shell. The test product blades reached the industry leading level of zero defects in pouring. (Lai Xin She)
