On January 2, 2024, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong met with Russian Ambassador to China Morgulov. Sun Weidong stated that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China Russia relations have maintained healthy, stable and in-depth development. This year, both sides will jointly celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and hold the China Russia Cultural Year. China is willing to take this opportunity to work with Russia to fully implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, continuously enhance mutual trust, expand cooperation, inherit friendship, and continuously deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia in the new era. Morgulov stated that Russia is willing to work hand in hand with China to further consolidate the traditional friendship between the two countries, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and continuously inject new impetus into the development of Russia China relations.
