The Proverbs Academy, which has a history of 170 years, was completed and unveiled in Yiyang, Hunan on December 31. The academy was founded by Hu Linyi, a famous minister of the late Qing Dynasty and an important leader of the Xiang Army. It was planned, repaired, and rebuilt according to the original site, covering an area of 14000 square meters. It is an important part of the Hunan culture and continues the cultural heritage of the academy for a hundred years. On December 31st, the 170 year old Jian Yan Academy, founded by Hu Linyi, a renowned figure in the late Qing Dynasty's Zhongxing era, was renovated and rebuilt. According to historical records, in the third year of the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1853), Hubei Governor Hu Linyi began the construction of the Jianyan Academy. In the third year of the Tongzhi reign (1863), the academy was officially completed and was then known as the "First Academy of the Three Xiangs". In the thirtieth year of the Guangxu reign (1904), the academy was presided over by Hu Zuyin, the grandson of Hu Linyi, and Wang Longwen, a flower scout, was appointed as the mountain chief. Not long after, the academy was renamed the School of Scholars, but it was still called the Proverbs Academy and was inscribed with the "Proverbs Academy Study Covenant". The Proverbs Academy once had a unique natural environment and educational conditions. The plan for the restorative reconstruction of the Zhen Yan Academy follows the original appearance map of the Zhen Yan Academy, with a layout of "two roads and four entrances" and "front water and back mountain". It fully utilizes the geographical advantages of the site and comprehensively restores the original style of the Zhen Yan Academy from the aspects of terrain, feng shui, scenery, and cultural atmosphere. The restored Jianyan Academy has venues such as Dacheng Hall, Gongzhan Temple, Lecture Hall, Library, Xiuzi Pavilion, Xusheng Garden, Jianyan School History Museum, and Jianyan Academy History Exhibition Hall. It not only has traditional functions such as ancient academy teaching and research, book collection, but also can be extended and expanded into research and practice bases, cultural exchanges, and other fields and forms, integrating functions such as tourism and sightseeing, cultural exchange, education and teaching, and anti-corruption education. The architectural complex of the Proverbs Academy is built according to the mountain terrain, arranged in three directions and arranged in a staggered and orderly manner. The curved arch shape of the roof ridge is quite beautiful, like open thread bound books, adding a scholarly atmosphere. On that day, Zhenyan Academy was awarded the title of "Yuelu Academy Zhenyan Academy Huxiang Culture and Yiyang Character Research Center" and "Hunan University Design and Research Institute Ancient Architecture Research and Practice Base".
