Kyrgyzstan's President Zaparov signed a legal amendment on the 22nd to partially modify the national flag design. On the same day, the Presidential Information Office of Kyrgyzstan issued a notice stating that according to the amendment to the Law on National Symbols of the Kyrgyz Republic, the main national symbols of Kyrgyzstan will have their national flag patterns modified, and the shape of the sun's rays in the flag will be changed from wavy to straight. On the 20th of this month, the Kyrgyz Parliament passed an amendment to the Law on State Symbols of the Kyrgyz Republic. According to regulations, official documents bearing the image of the Kyrgyz flag shall still have legal effect during their validity period, and motor vehicle licenses and registration certificates bearing the image of the Kyrgyz flag shall remain valid until the relevant department makes a replacement decision.
