The 2023 China ASEAN Film Culture Week opened on the 20th in Nanning, Guangxi. The theme of this cultural week is "Light and Shadow Building Dreams, Harmony and Coexistence". It is reported that since its establishment in 2013, the China ASEAN Film Culture Week has been successfully held for 9 sessions, effectively promoting in-depth dialogue between China and ASEAN films across borders, and showcasing a colorful and diverse film culture. The 2023 China ASEAN Film Culture Week has a total of six ASEAN countries participating in film exhibitions, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, making it the largest number of participating countries in history. At the opening ceremony, Cui Zuojun, Executive Vice Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Director of the Guangxi Film Bureau, stated that in the past 10 years, Guangxi has leveraged its unique geographical advantages to successfully hold activities such as the China ASEAN Film Culture Week, Drama Week, and Music Week. Through cultural mutual learning and film interconnection, it has effectively promoted deep cross-border dialogue between China and ASEAN film and television, and expanded the spatial channels for cultural exchange and cooperation between China and ASEAN. This cultural week will last for 8 days, including China ASEAN Film Exhibition, China ASEAN Film Co creation and Development Forum, Guangxi Excellent Literary Works Film and Television Conversion, and China ASEAN Film and Television Project Cooperation Seminar.
