The National Election Commission of Egypt announced on the 18th that current President Abdul Fatah al Sisi won the presidential election with 89.6% of the vote. At a press conference held on the same day, the National Election Commission stated that approximately 44.8 million voters participated in the presidential election, with a voter turnout of 66.8% and a valid vote share of 98.9%. Among all the valid votes, Cesi received approximately 40 million votes. According to the National Election Commission, there are 15000 Egyptian judges and thousands of local and foreign observers monitoring the voting process nationwide. The presidential election in Egypt will be conducted in two stages, domestic and overseas. The overseas voting will be held from December 1st to 3rd, and the 3-day domestic voting will end on December 12th. The other three candidates participating in the presidential election are the Chairman of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, Zahran, the Chairman of the Egyptian Waffen Party, Yemamai, and the Chairman of the Egyptian Republican People's Party, Hazim. The Egyptian Constitution stipulates that presidential elections shall be conducted in two rounds of voting. If a candidate receives more than half of the votes in the first round of voting, they will be directly elected. Otherwise, the two candidates who received the most votes in the first round will enter the second round of voting, and the candidate who received the most votes in the second round will be elected. The previous Egyptian presidential election was held in 2018, and according to the revised constitution in 2019, the term of the Egyptian president was extended from 4 years to 6 years. The new presidential term is from 2024 to 2030. Sisi is 69 years old and graduated from the Egyptian Military Academy. He has held various positions including Egyptian military officer in Saudi Arabia, commander of the Northern Military Region, director of the Military Intelligence Agency, and Minister of Defense.
