Experience the Mighty Power of China's Reform and Opening up: Cambodian Army Lieutenant Colonel Zhubulong. This year marks the 45th anniversary of China's reform and opening up. For this reason, the Chinese People's Liberation Army Army Service College, where I am located, specially organized external training students to come to Shenzhen to visit and learn, allowing everyone to experience the strong pulse of China's reform and opening up, as well as the fruitful results achieved. From the observation deck of Lianhuashan Park, one can see towering buildings that witness the height and speed of Shenzhen. Looking down from the observation deck, you can see the bustling scenery in full view. The roads that run in all directions, the constant flow of vehicles, the harmonious interweaving of flowers, forests, and buildings all radiate the vitality of this modern city. It's hard for me to imagine that over 40 years ago, Shenzhen was just a backward small fishing village. "The tremendous changes in Shenzhen are inseparable from the magnificent power of China's reform and opening up." In an exhibition hall, the commentator introduced that Shenzhen is a brand new city created by the Party and the people after the reform and opening up, and a brilliant portrayal of socialism with Chinese characteristics on a blank sheet of paper. With the full support of the Party and the government, the vast majority of cadres and masses have overcome difficulties and worked hard. Time is money, efficiency is life. Shenzhen has successfully embarked on a path of innovation and continuous reform and opening up, achieving a historic leap from a backward border town to an international metropolis with global influence. A accompanying teacher told me that the success achieved in Shenzhen has greatly enhanced the confidence of the Chinese people in continuously advancing reform and opening up. From developing Shanghai Pudong to joining the World Trade Organization, from building Hainan Free Trade Port to hosting the China International Import Expo... China's door to opening up to the outside world is opening wider and wider, greatly changing China's appearance and injecting more confidence and momentum into the world economy. Reform and opening up can be considered a crucial move in determining the fate of contemporary China. During the visit, I couldn't help but think of Cambodia's "Shenzhen" - Sihanouk Port (West Port). Once upon a time, it was as backward as Shenzhen in the past. In 2006, Cambodia designated the port as an economic special zone, just like Shenzhen, "eating reform meals, following the path of openness, and playing the innovative card.". Nowadays, the multifunctional Xigang Special Economic Zone has smooth water and electricity, developed transportation, attracted enterprises from various countries to settle in, created many employment opportunities, greatly promoted local economic development, and composed the Cambodian version of the "story of spring". In 2021, with the support of Shenzhen Urban Planning and Design Institute, Xigang Special Zone has conducted a more in-depth analysis of the challenges and opportunities it faces, studied and introduced new measures for opening up, and formulated development plans for the future. From point to surface, the development experience of Xigang Special Zone will also drive the development of other cities, adding strong impetus to Cambodia's economy. Reform never stops, development never stops. Although China and Cambodia have different national conditions, they will continue to steadfastly pursue development paths that are in line with their own national conditions. I believe that the story of China's reform and opening up has a better continuation, and Cambodia can also discover more opportunities from it, and enjoy more beautiful scenery on the road ahead.
