On the afternoon of November 28th, the 7th China Singapore Legal and Judicial Roundtable Conference concluded. Zhang Jun, Chief Justice of the People's Republic of China and President of the Supreme People's Court, and Mei Dashun, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Singapore, attended the closing ceremony and delivered speeches. On behalf of the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Jun warmly congratulates the successful hosting of the conference. He pointed out that this round table conference is a very important meeting held by the Supreme Courts of the two countries and a new starting point in the context of the upgrading of China Singapore relations to a forward-looking partnership of all-round and high-quality, and the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" into a new stage of high-quality development. China and Singapore, with the beautiful desire to enhance mutual trust, consolidate consensus, and expand cooperation, have sincerely exchanged ideas, learned from each other, and sought common development on topics of common concern. This has further consolidated the mechanism of the China Singapore Legal and Judicial Roundtable Conference, which will undoubtedly have an important impact on promoting judicial cooperation between China and Singapore, as well as internationally. Zhang Jun pointed out that this meeting has enhanced exchanges and mutual learning. Both sides respect each other and share candidly, reaching broad consensus on various issues, adding new vitality and injecting new momentum to judicial exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, and providing a model for pragmatic cooperation between judicial institutions in different countries. Deepening mutually beneficial cooperation. Keeping up with the development of the times and the concerns of both sides, conducting in-depth research and discussion will help both sides further improve the quality and efficiency of justice in their future work, and also lay a solid foundation for future cooperation. A brand new chapter has been written. On the basis of full communication between the senior judicial officials and working groups of both sides, and through the pragmatic promotion of the round table meeting, a clearer plan has been made for the focus and direction of the next stage of judicial cooperation between the two sides, which is of great significance and carries forward the past and the future. We look forward to working together with Singapore to earnestly implement the consensus of the leaders of the two countries, jointly promote the new development of the roundtable mechanism, and write a new chapter in judicial exchange and cooperation between China and Singapore. In his speech, Meda Shun expressed gratitude to the Supreme People's Court of China for its meticulous arrangements, pointing out that this is another fruitful, successful, and insightful exchange between the judicial institutions of the two countries, which has elevated the consensus on the four major strategic issues of the conference to a new level. It is recommended that both parties consolidate and promote existing judicial cooperation channels, improve new cooperation mechanisms, and expand dialogue and discussion between the courts of the two countries. The Supreme Court of Singapore looks forward to further close cooperation with the Supreme People's Court of China to take bilateral judicial cooperation to the next level.
