Yesterday, at the 2023 Artificial Intelligence Computing Conference (AICC), the White Paper on Innovative Applications of Big Models in the Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry (2023) was released. The White Paper shows that Beijing is currently the region with the best innovation foundation, the most concentrated talent resources, the strongest R&D innovation ability, and the most active product iteration in the field of artificial intelligence in China. It now has 122 large model innovation teams, accounting for about half of the country's total, and the number of large models ranks first in the country. On a global scale, countries around the world are actively promoting the research and application of large models. The White Paper shows that currently, the total number of universal large models released by the United States and China accounts for 80% of global releases, becoming a leader in the field of large model technology. From a national perspective, Beijing has the earliest layout of large models, and is currently the region with the best innovation foundation, the most concentrated scientific research team, the strongest technical strength, and the most active model iteration in China. As of October 2023, there are a total of 254 manufacturers and universities in China with a parameter scale of over 1 billion, distributed in more than 20 provinces, cities, and regions, including 122 in Beijing. Beijing has a vast market space for large-scale model applications and has taken the lead in carrying out diversified application practices. Ruzhuanyuan Technology has created a consumer oriented product model demonstration application centered around the market demand tracking and new product development needs of Beijing Yiqing Technology Group, forming service functions such as intelligent reverse customization, predictive production, intelligent scheduling, and intelligent marketing, accelerating the digital upgrading of the consumer manufacturing field; 360 Company focuses on the digital transformation needs of banks, creating a large model in the financial field, and achieving a 40% reduction in average office document processing time for employees. The White Paper further proposes the challenges faced by the current implementation of large model applications, such as insufficient supply of computing power resources, high-quality data becoming a serious obstacle to the application of the large model industry, the gap between the illusion of large models and large-scale implementation, and the existence of "friction" and homogenization in large model applications. During the conference, a series of innovative achievements in the field of artificial intelligence in Beijing, including the first batch of Chinese internet corpora, were released. In order to meet the urgent demand for high-quality datasets in the rapid development of large models, Zhiyuan Research Institute, in collaboration with Tuosi and Zhongke Wenge, announced the joint construction of a "Chinese Internet Corpus" to provide safe and reliable corpus resources for the development of the domestic large model industry. The first 104GB corpus data was released at the conference. During this conference, the 2023-2024 Evaluation Report on the Development of Artificial Intelligence Computing Power in China was released, which released the ranking of artificial intelligence computing power in Chinese cities.
