On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of friendly exchanges between the Brazilian tourist city of Iguasu and Xiamen, China, the first Latin American Chinese Culture Tour Brazil Station was held on November 21 in Iguasu, marking the opening of the "Xiamen Week" event in Iguasu. On November 21st, the first Latin American Chinese Culture Tour Exhibition was held in Iguasu, Brazil. The Xiamen Propaganda Department provided pictures for this tour exhibition. It was organized by the China Publishing Association, the Xiamen Municipal People's Government Information Office, and the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce, organized by Xiamen Foreign Image Group Co., Ltd., and supported by the Chinese Consulate General in S ã o Paulo, the Xiamen Municipal People's Government Foreign Affairs Office, and the Iguasu City Government of Brazil. The touring exhibition carried out a series of activities such as the "Sea Garden" Beautiful Xiamen Picture Exhibition, the China Book Exhibition Gift, and the exchange of Chinese and foreign folk art exhibitions. Shang Guanjun, Director of the Information Office of the Xiamen Municipal People's Government, introduced the achievements of Xiamen's reform and opening up in his opening speech, hoping to achieve closer cooperation with Iguasu in various fields such as economy, trade, tourism, and humanities. Iguasu City Speaker Morales stated that this exhibition and the "Xiamen Week" event, using "stunning representative symbols" such as folk customs, urban landscapes, sports, and cuisine, have enabled Iguasu to better understand the modern international urban style of Xiamen and usher in a new process of friendly exchanges between the two cities. On the day when the publicity department of Xiamen provided pictures, a group of excellent photography works outlined the style of "Garden City" Xiamen in the bustling local commercial district; 150 selected books present the scenery of Xiamen for citizens to browse. Shen Xianyang, Chairman of Xiamen Waitu Group Co., Ltd., stated that the batch of books will be donated to the Iguasu City Library. In a public elementary school, puppet artist Zhuang Yanhong set up an "overseas study" troupe, and her exquisite performance made many elementary school students become smaller theater fans. It is reported that in 2022, Xiamen's total import and export to Brazil reached 4.187 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 20%. As of August 2023, Brazil has established a total of 9 foreign-invested enterprises in Xiamen, and Xiamen has invested in 2 projects for Brazilian enterprises. In September of this year, the first China Brazil Provincial Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar was successfully held in Xiamen. Iguazu City is located at the border of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay, with the world-renowned Iguazu Waterfall landscape.
