2023-11-21
Chorus, piano solo, folk dance, calligraphy, Paper Cuttings... Recently, a delegation of 23 from the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra visited Shanghai. They came to the Children's Palace of the China Welfare Association, shuttled through various art spaces, watched talent performances brought by children and interacted with them. In 1973, during the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra's first visit to China, they visited the Chinese Welfare Association Children's Palace founded by Soong Ching ling and were deeply impressed by this "palace" where children learn art and technology. In 2013, the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra of the United States visited Shanghai again and performed on stage with the Children's Palace Art Troupe of the China Welfare Association, continuing their relationship. Ten years later, members of the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra once again received a warm welcome from the children and faculty of the Children's Palace. Two children gave the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra the calligraphy works with the word "Friendship" and the Paper Cuttings works with the theme of panda completed on the scene as gifts.
