The "Xinjiang is a Good Place" cultural tourism week opened on the 16th in Seoul, South Korea. Chinese Ambassador to South Korea, Xing Haiming, stated in his speech that this Xinjiang Cultural Tourism Week aims to introduce the scenery, cultural relics, intangible cultural heritage, art, and cuisine of Xinjiang to the South Korean people, so that more South Korean friends can further understand, enter, and perceive Xinjiang, experience the rich culture and beautiful scenery of Xinjiang in China more truthfully and accurately, close each other's distance, and promote mutual understanding between the Chinese and South Korean people. Lee Sang hyun, Chairman of the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Committee of the South Korean National Assembly and a member of the National Assembly, delivered a speech, expressing the hope of experiencing the unique charm of music, dance, and intangible cultural heritage in Xinjiang, China, and enhancing mutual understanding and affection through this event. This exchange is beneficial for all sectors of South Korea to better understand cultural diversity and the importance of mutual tolerance. Zhang Yongdong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, stated in his speech and cultural and tourism promotion that Xinjiang, China, and cities such as Seoul and Busan in South Korea have maintained long-term cultural exchange and cooperation. The opening ceremony also showcased photographic works documenting the natural scenery, cultural customs, interesting folk customs, and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage in Xinjiang, China, as well as cultural and creative products showcasing the protection, inheritance, and utilization of precious cultural relics and intangible cultural heritage in Xinjiang. The guests also watched the folk song and dance art performance brought by the Muqam Art Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theatre. The "Xinjiang is a Good Place" cultural tourism week event is jointly organized by the Seoul China Cultural Center, the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Korea China Economic and Cultural Education Association, and will continue until late November. During the event, the Seoul China Cultural Center will simultaneously display nearly a hundred (group) Xinjiang themed photography works online and offline, and hold online exhibition activities through promotional videos, short videos, documentaries, and other means to comprehensively present the ice and snow resources, cultural heritage, singing and dancing art, and characteristic cuisine of Xinjiang, China.
