The lecture on Chinese tea culture and fragrance culture, titled "Chinese Stories" and "Tea Fragrance Collection," was held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo on the evening of the 12th. More than 120 people, including Egyptian experts, scholars, university teachers and students, Chinese language and cultural enthusiasts, participated in the event. Yang Ronghao, Minister of Culture and Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, delivered a speech at the event, stating that tea and spices were the two main commodities of the ancient Silk Road and also a link and bridge connecting the Chinese and Arab people and promoting cultural exchange. The "Chinese Traditional Tea Making Techniques and Related Customs" was included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2022, and tea culture has become a common wealth of all humanity. He emphasized that implementing the Global Civilization Initiative and promoting exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and Arab civilizations will further promote the mutual understanding between the Chinese and Arab peoples. At the lecture, the keynote speaker introduced the origin, development, dissemination, and aesthetic connotations of Chinese tea culture and aroma culture, as well as contemporary tea seats and aroma seats. They also interacted with the audience on topics such as modern instant brewing tea processing technology and the cultural phenomenon of timing incense.
