Xinhua Review: China and the World's Bi-directional Journey to the China International Fair

2023-11-06

It's another year to enter the Expo. The National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), resembling a "four leaf clover", is decorated to embrace visitors from all directions. This will be the first time that the COVID-19 Expo has fully resumed offline exhibition, the number of exhibitors has fully recovered to the pre epidemic level, and the number of world top 500 and industry leading enterprises has also exceeded previous sessions. The CIIE, which gathers the resources of the world, promotes the circulation of commerce and creates a new trend in technology, from the establishment of China to global sharing, from one exhibition to one exhibition benefiting the world, and creates new opportunities for the world with China's new development, is connecting the forces of two-way development and playing the music of win-win cooperation. This is the exterior view of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), the venue of the 6th China International Import and Export Expo (photographed on November 2, 2023). Xinhua News Agency reporter Xin Mengchen photographed here as a stage for China and the world to seek development opportunities together. Commodities, enterprises, and resources converge here, exporting and importing, producing and consuming, investing and attracting investment... The distance is closer here, and connectivity leads to mutual progress. From upstream and downstream industries to trade and investment layout, the CIIE has increasingly become an important window for industry integration, innovation promotion, and rule connection. The linkage between domestic and international markets and resources is strengthened, and the global context of development is smoother. Rosalia Valfalovskaya, a leading researcher at the China Socio Economic Research Center of the Institute of China and Modern Asia at the Russian Academy of Sciences, said that foreign trade exchanges are like blood flowing within the global economy, and the CIIE has accelerated the flow of this blood, thereby promoting the healthy development of the global economy. This is a booth for China and the world to jointly seek development momentum. As standard features, "debut" and "first exhibition" make the CIIE a showcase for innovation and creation. In the current era of slow global economic recovery and complex and ever-changing trade environment, countries are searching for new driving forces, and the significance of innovation is self-evident. Exhibitors are not far away from mountains and seas. They observe, exchange, explore, perceive market changes, anticipate industry trends, and gather new driving forces for global economic development here. Here, there are innovations aimed at the current "pain points", as well as discussions related to technological change and long-term development. The CIIE has shown us new market opportunities, which is the common aspiration of many participating enterprises. At this year's CIIE, over 400 new products, technologies, and services will be presented in a concentrated manner. In the view of Wang Xiaoyong, President of Olympus China Medical Services, the CIIE is not only a "big stage" for showcasing new products, technologies, and services, but also an "accelerator" for further integration into the Chinese market and a "telescope" for observing industry trends. The "four leaf grass" contains countless opportunities, inspiring enterprises to continue their long-term agreements with China. On November 2, 2023, staff made preparations at the Panasonic Electric Appliances booth at the CIIE. Xinhua News Agency reporter Xin Mengchen photographed here as a platform for China to share development achievements with the world. In the past few CIIE sessions, specialty products such as Ethiopian coffee, Guinea-Bissau cashew nuts, and Zambian honey have been able to appear on the same stage as high-quality products from Fortune 500 and other leading enterprises. In this year's national exhibition, 16 out of 69 countries are least developed countries. The platform effect of the CIIE has built an important bridge for these countries to embed into the global value chain, promoting their product exports and reducing costs
