2023-11-03
On October 19th, Eli Tuvineyo, Executive Director of the Export Promotion Committee of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperation of Uganda, received an exclusive interview with Xinhua News Agency reporters in Kampala. Xinhua News Agency reporter Nie Guoguo took a photo of Eli Tuvineyo, Executive Director of the Export Promotion Committee of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperation of Uganda. In a recent interview with Xinhua News Agency reporters, he stated that developing countries have gained tangible benefits from China's opening up to the outside world, and the China International Import Expo is a reflection of China's further expansion of opening up. Tuvineyo said that Ugandan enterprises have received many trade agreements or orders at previous CIIE, benefiting from China's opening up. He said that China has implemented zero tariffs on 98% of its tax products from multiple least developed countries, including Uganda, and implemented measures such as the "Certified Operators" (AEO) mutual recognition arrangement, providing convenience for Ugandan enterprises to explore the Chinese market. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the initiative of jointly building the "the Belt and Road". Tuvenejo told reporters that China held a new Expo soon after the closing of the third "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, which provided a valuable opportunity for global enterprises to show their products and services to the Chinese market. He said that the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" has accelerated the construction of transportation and energy infrastructure in African countries, providing an important support for promoting export and income growth. Taking Uganda as an example, the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" to bring new hydropower stations to Uganda is crucial to accelerating the industrialization process of the country. Tuvenejo said that through the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" and China's "Exhibition Matrix", Uganda's products and services can also be further exported to other parts of the world, such as Asian regions, African continents or European and American markets.
