On November 2nd, the reporter learned from the Sinopec News Office that China's first 270000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas storage tank, which is currently the largest natural gas storage tank in the world, has officially been put into use at Sinopec Qingdao LNG Terminal. The storage tank will add 165 million cubic meters of gas storage capacity, which can meet the gas demand of 2.16 million households during the heating season for 5 months. It will greatly enhance the natural gas supply guarantee capacity in North China and lay a solid foundation for the upcoming winter heating. This tank is a super large LNG tank independently developed and constructed by Sinopec. The storage tank has a diameter of 100.6 meters and a height of 55 meters. The space inside the tank can accommodate a domestic C919 large passenger aircraft. It is a super large LNG storage tank and is the main project of the third phase storage tank project of Sinopec Qingdao LNG Terminal. It is jointly developed and constructed by Sinopec Natural Gas Branch, Engineering Construction Co., Ltd., and 10th Construction Co., Ltd. The construction team independently developed a complete set of 270000 cubic meters of full capacity LNG storage tank technology, using 17 independent intellectual property patent technologies. The main structure of the tank was completed in just 18 months, and after 27 months, it was safely and smoothly put into use, greatly improving construction efficiency, providing experience and reference for the construction of super large LNG storage tanks in China. In addition, more than 20 core equipment were successfully localized during the construction process, significantly reducing procurement costs and increasing the localization level of storage tanks to over 95%. It is currently the most domestically produced liquefied natural gas storage tank. On the same day, the second phase of the Tianjin LNG receiving station project was officially completed, with three 220000 cubic meters of storage tanks put into use, with an additional gas storage capacity of over 400 million cubic meters. At this point, the gas storage capacity of Sinopec Tianjin LNG Terminal reached 1.08 billion cubic meters, ranking first in the country. As of now, the total gas storage capacity of Sinopec Qingdao and Tianjin LNG receiving stations can reach 1.68 billion cubic meters, further consolidating the winter supply guarantee resource foundation. It is reported that in recent years, Sinopec has deeply implemented the strategic deployment of the national production, supply, storage, and sales system construction, continuously accelerating the construction of gas storage capacity. Currently, it has formed a gas storage capacity of nearly 5 billion cubic meters, and the role of natural gas peak shaving and supply guarantee has significantly improved. On the one hand, we will accelerate the construction of gas storage facilities. Currently, 12 natural gas storage facilities have been built, including Zhongyuan Gas Storage Complex, Jintan, Wen96, and Jianghan Yanxue. On the other hand, we will orderly promote the expansion of Tianjin and Qingdao LNG receiving stations. Currently, 7 storage tanks at Qingdao LNG receiving stations and 9 storage tanks at Tianjin LNG receiving stations have been put into use on schedule. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, Sinopec will continue to build multiple gas storage depots and LNG receiving stations, further enhancing its capacity for gas peak shaving and natural gas supply.
