As of the end of September, a total of 6.68 million people have been included in the coverage, and 32000 people have received occupational injury protection benefits of 490 million yuan. He stated that occupational injury protection has effectively safeguarded the rights and interests of new forms of employment, especially effectively played the role of providing cover for major casualty accidents. This system also disperses the operational risks of platform enterprises and contributes to the standardized and healthy development of the platform economy. Occupational injury insurance is a "new type of work-related injury insurance" created for takeaway riders, ride hailing drivers, etc., which is paid by platform enterprises and not by individual employees. The scope and situation of its protection, as well as the standards and levels of treatment, are consistent with the overall level of work-related injury insurance. The pilot project on how to participate in social insurance for the emerging group of new employment forms has solved the problem and accumulated valuable experience.
