The 16th Senior Officials' Meeting of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation was held in Beijing on the 23rd. The meeting heard and reviewed the report of China on the implementation of the results of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation, and exchanged views on the preparations for the new forum in 2024. China is willing to firmly unite and trust with the African side, innovate and develop cooperation, firmly maintain peace and stability, closely exchange and learn from civilizations, actively prepare for the new conference next year, and work together on the path of modernization to open up a new path for developing countries to unite and strengthen themselves. Deng Ba Ba, Chief Foreign Affairs Advisor to the President of Senegal, the Co-Chairperson of the Forum, stated in his speech that since the establishment of the Forum, Africa and China have actively promoted the development of Africa China relations on the basis of friendship, mutual respect, mutual trust, and mutual benefit. He expressed gratitude to China for implementing numerous infrastructure projects in various African countries, and demonstrated through fruitful cooperation results that the Forum on China Africa Cooperation is a united, stable, and efficient cooperation mechanism, with great potential for future development. Dunbar Ba appreciates China's firm support for the African Union's accession to the G20 and its positive contribution to enhancing the representation of developing countries and making global governance reform more fair and reasonable. African senior officials and representatives actively commented on the achievements of China Africa relations and the Forum on China Africa Cooperation, warmly congratulated the successful convening of the third "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, and agreed that 10 years after the "the Belt and Road" initiative was put forward, China has been in the spirit of mutual respect, mutual benefit and win-win results, and has taken practical measures to provide strong support for Africa's sustainable development. The African side is willing to work together with China to implement the cooperation blueprint jointly drawn by African Chinese leaders, promote African China cooperation to a higher level, and work together to bring common development and prosperity to the 2.7 billion African Chinese people. During the meeting, 54 representatives from non members of the forum spoke freely on the implementation of the results of the eighth ministerial meeting of the forum and the preparation for the 2024 forum meeting. Wu Peng, Director of the Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that China attaches great importance to Africa's cooperation needs in fields such as agriculture, infrastructure construction, investment and trade, peace and security, and is willing to strengthen policy communication and docking with Africa to jointly explore feasible paths for optimizing China Africa cooperation projects. We welcome non members of the forum to actively participate in the construction of forum mechanisms, conference preparations, and implementation of outcomes. We are willing to work together with non members to polish the forum's golden signboard and bring greater benefits to the people of both sides. Nearly 300 high-level officials and representatives from China, 53 African countries, members of the African Union Commission and other forums, as well as observers from some international and regional organizations, attended the meeting.
