RedCap technology simplifies the complexity of network and terminal devices, reduces overall costs and energy consumption, and is an important foundation for 5G to achieve the interconnection of people, machines, and things. It will play a positive role in building new infrastructure for the Internet of Things, empowering traditional industries to transform and upgrade, and promoting the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology proposes that by 2025, the comprehensive capacity of the 5G RedCap industry will significantly improve, standards will continue to evolve, and application scale will continue to grow. Cities at or above the county level nationwide have achieved 5G RedCap scale coverage. The application scenarios of 5G RedCap in industries, energy, logistics, vehicle networking, public safety, smart cities, and other fields are more diverse.
