The first Cross Strait Youth Film Exhibition and Seeing Jimei Youth Film Exhibition kicked off on the 16th at the Jiageng Theater in Jimei District, Xiamen City, witnessed by experts, scholars, and young filmmakers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait. This film exhibition is guided by the China Film Foundation, Fujian Provincial Film Bureau, and Fujian Federation of Literary and Artistic Circles. It is jointly hosted by the Jimei District Government of Xiamen City, Fujian Film Association, Xiamen Cross Strait Exchange Association, and Taiwan Film Production and Development Association. The sponsor said that as a project aimed at youth, youth film exhibition across the Taiwan Straits helps to cultivate young film makers, integrates high-quality film and television resources across the Straits, and builds a platform for exchange, cooperation and development of youth film makers across the Straits, it is a profile of the rapid development of film and television industry in Jimei District in recent years, and has been included in the China Golden Rooster&Hundred Flowers Film Festival series of activities. The film exhibition focuses on the theme of "Youth, Light, and Shadow Affection Across the Taiwan Strait", covering short film competitions, opening ceremonies, themed exchanges, beauty collection, film parties, "Seeing Jimei" youth film training camp, film review and essay solicitation, and other activities. It encourages young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to use images to record history, share stories, and integrate local customs and Fujian Taiwan culture into film art. Zhang Pimin, President of the China Film Foundation, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, saying that with the help of the Golden Rooster Award brand effect and platform advantages, he saw that Jimei Youth Film Festival had been successfully held for four consecutive times. This year, it was upgraded to "Cross Strait Youth Film Festival", creating a good ecological environment for the incubation of young filmmakers' works, and providing more and more "Jimei opportunities" for youth on both sides of the Taiwan Straits. As the hometown of Emperor Jiageng, Jimei has successively introduced multiple policy measures to fully support the development of the film and television industry. Nearly a thousand registered film and television companies have attracted over 300 film crews to Jimei for filming. At the opening ceremony of this film exhibition, the feature film exhibition unit released was composed of six Taiwan, China films, including Today's Public Holiday, You're in My Heart, Fairy Tales, The World, The Ha Yong Family, The Family Growling, and Fried Reunion; The short film list consists of 23 award-winning works from the cross-strait university short film competition. Subsequently, the award-winning works of the Cross Strait University Short Film Competition will be exhibited in universities and cinemas across the Taiwan Strait.
