This is an important arrangement of the Central Political Bureau to deepen the theoretical study of thematic education. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the major task of opening up a new realm of Marxism's sinicization and modernization, emphasizing that this is the solemn historical responsibility of contemporary CPC people. Our collective learning on this topic aims to deepen our understanding of the regularity of the Party's theoretical innovation, further clarify the direction, methods, and direction of theoretical innovation, and achieve more fruitful theoretical innovation results in the new era and journey. Looking back at the century long struggle history of the Party, the reason why our Party was able to achieve significant achievements in various historical periods of revolution, construction, and reform, and to lead the people to complete arduous tasks that other political forces in China cannot accomplish is fundamentally because we have mastered the scientific theory of Marxism and continuously combined it with new reality to promote theoretical innovation, so that the Party has mastered a strong power of truth. Why the CPC can and why socialism with Chinese characteristics is good, in the final analysis, is the Marxist line, which is Chinese and contemporary. This is the conclusion of history. In the historical process of promoting the sinicization and modernization of Marxism, our party has achieved significant theoretical achievements such as Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of the "Three Represents", the Scientific Outlook on Development, and the thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era. We have always adhered to the principles of liberating the mind, seeking truth from facts, keeping up with the times, and seeking truth and pragmatism, so that Marxism can radiate strong vitality in China. On the basis of summarizing historical experience, the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed and elaborated on scientific methods to promote theoretical innovation of the Party, such as "two combinations" and "six must be adhered to". This provides a fundamental basis for continuing to promote theoretical innovation of the Party, and we must adhere to and apply them well. Firstly, always adhere to the soul and root of theoretical innovation. The significant proposition of sinicization and modernization of Marxism itself determines that we must not abandon the soul of Marxism or the root of excellent traditional Chinese culture. Adhering to this soul and root is the foundation and prerequisite for theoretical innovation, and theoretical innovation is also aimed at better adhering to this soul and root. Persistence is for better development, and development is also for better persistence. Theoretical innovation must speak new words, but we cannot lose our ancestors. Counting our ancestors and forgetting them is equivalent to cutting off the soul and root veins, and ultimately making a subversive mistake of losing them. I propose upholding integrity and innovation, which emphasizes not following the old path of isolation and rigidity, nor the evil path of changing flags and changing stances. Both of these paths are dead ends.
