My undergraduate and master's degrees were in social work, and my master's degree was in judicial social work. After pursuing graduate studies in 2019, I interned at Chaoyue Youth Social Work Firm and started working here after graduating in 2021. Our institution is a public welfare organization that provides social work services for minors in need in the judicial field. It has been established for 13 years and currently has more than 20 staff members. The specific job responsibilities include specialized school work, social investigation, disciplinary education, civil care, victim assistance, and criminal assistance and education. Each of our frontline social unions has its main direction of work. I am mainly responsible for providing assistance to underage victims. I have just started this journey and feel that children and I are inspiring each other in our daily work. When I first received the case, I was very flustered because I expected the victim to be very fragile and pitiful, but after actual contact, I clearly felt the vitality of the other party. Because the family structure of this child is relatively complex, the guardian did indeed neglect in the process of raising her. She was later attacked by strangers, which was a significant blow to her. She is only thirteen or fourteen years old and has difficulty digesting these wounds. When we first met, she was in a very obvious defensive state and said 'I don't care' about anything. We meet offline four times a month, and with some regular online communication, the third meeting becomes more natural and enters a relatively harmonious interactive mode. This case is a collaboration between me and another colleague, who "focuses" on my mother while I "focus" on my child. My main goal at that time was to stimulate the child's autonomy and make her feel like she could make decisions. Secondly, I wanted her to experience stable object relationships, where her previous social relationships were either too far or too close. I needed her to experience the appropriate social distance. We followed up from summer until the end of the Chinese New Year, which lasted for about seven or eight months. Our most fundamental direction for victims is to reduce the trauma of the case to themselves and their families, so that the victims can return to a normal life. When we see that this child can return to school stably, her conflict with the family has eased, and there is emotional flow within the family, we can 'withdraw'. In addition to one-on-one case follow-up, we also conduct group activities. For example, this summer we organized five "City Calendar" events with different routes. The children measured the subway line with their feet and walked 27.6 kilometers, delivering cool mineral water to 100 people in need. 'City Chronicles' is an outdoor growth oriented group activity aimed at teenagers with deviant behavior. Tear off the "label", they are young and immature children in the activity, and no one wears "colored glasses" to view them. The smiling faces and gratitude of strangers give them a sense of accomplishment from the bottom of their hearts. Life influences life, hope ignites hope.
