Recently, the National Mediation Work Conference jointly convened by the Supreme People's Court and the Ministry of Justice pointed out that in recent years, Judicial administrative organs at all levels have fully played the fundamental role of mediation in resolving conflicts and disputes, and a mediation organization network covering urban and rural areas and key areas has basically formed. As a dispute resolution method with Chinese characteristics, mediation is a direct reflection and vivid practice of the "Fengqiao Experience". Data shows that in 2022, the National People's Mediation Organization mediated 14.94 million cases of various conflicts and disputes, maximizing the resolution of conflicts and disputes at the grassroots level and before litigation, effectively safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the people. In order to promote the substantive resolution of conflicts and disputes on the spot and achieve a harmonious settlement of the case, the meeting emphasized the fundamental task of resolving conflicts and disputes on the ground, focusing on the grassroots level, and doing a good job in mediating conflicts and disputes closely related to the grassroots people, such as neighbors, marriage and family, mountain and forest land, housing and homestead land, land acquisition and demolition; Further strengthen and standardize professional mediation work in industries such as healthcare, road traffic, labor disputes, and property management, and continue to expand into key areas such as consumption, tourism, finance, insurance, and intellectual property; Efforts should be made to resolve conflicts and disputes involving enterprises, and the role of enterprise mediation committees and various chambers of commerce in mediating and organizing should be utilized to help enterprises prevent risks and resolve conflicts. In recent years, various regions have actively utilized information technologies such as big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence to achieve dynamic intelligent perception and scientific and accurate analysis of conflicts and risks. By fully utilizing new carriers, technologies, and means to promote innovative development of mediation work, such as opening TV mediation programs, developing mobile apps, and WeChat mini programs, good results have been achieved. In order to strengthen the construction of the mediation team, the meeting emphasized the need to comply with the requirements of the "Opinions on Strengthening the Construction of the People's Mediator Team", and to quickly achieve the full allocation of full-time people's mediators such as village (community) and township (street) mediation committees.
