2023-10-08
The Tunisian government has recently decided to implement a visa free entry policy for Chinese tourists visiting Tunisia. The Chinese Embassy in Tunisia announced on the 7th that according to the Tunisian government's regulations, the visa free policy implemented is applicable to Chinese individual or group tourists entering Tunisia from within or outside China. Chinese tourists are required to provide hotel orders and round-trip tickets that meet the requirements when checking in and entering the country. Tunisia implemented a visa free entry policy for Chinese tourists in 2017, and the number of Chinese tourists increased by about 40% the following year. After the COVID-19, the Tunisian government revised the relevant immigration policies. In 2023, Tunisia's tourism industry will gradually recover, with a significant increase in the number of inbound tourists and tourism revenue. Officials from the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism have previously stated that the Chinese market has great potential for the Tunisian tourism industry, hoping to attract more Chinese tourists to Tunisia. Tunisia is located in northern Africa, adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea, and is known as the "backyard of Europe". The tourism industry is a pillar industry in Tunisia, generating significant income and providing numerous employment opportunities for the country. (New News Agency)
