On October 5th, Zhang Jun, Chief Justice of the People's Republic of China and President of the Supreme People's Court, attended the opening ceremony of the 12th Asia Pacific International Legal Forum through video and delivered a speech. Zhang Jun stated that the Asia Pacific is where we stand and the source of global economic growth. China has always been an active advocate and steadfast practitioner of Asia Pacific cooperation. This year marks the 45th anniversary of China's reform and opening up, as well as the 10th anniversary of the idea of building a community with a shared future for mankind and jointly building the "the Belt and Road" initiative. The Chinese court is willing to work with participating countries, uphold the purposes and principles of the APEC, deepen exchanges and cooperation in the legal and judicial fields, and actively contribute wisdom and strength to regional and global peace, stability, prosperity and development. Zhang Jun proposed three suggestions around the theme of "balancing the protection of national interests and the rights of participants in international economic relations" determined by the forum.
