AI technology allows "world champions" to accompany and practice

Recently, at the Intelligent Table Tennis Cloud Champion Challenge held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Xu Xin competed with the arm service robot "AI Xu Xin" on site. This robot, supported by Alibaba Cloud computing power and equipped with the pong smart system, can control real rackets through a robotic arm, highly restoring Xu Xin's style, and can set the rotation level, speed level, and landing position of the ball. It has been applied to the Hangzhou Asian Games Village, allowing athletes to exercise in their leisure time. It's quite novel, it's my first time playing against 'myself', "Xu Xin commented." AI Xu Xin "has a positive lead style, which is that the spin is slightly weak, but the strength of the ball's rotation can be adjusted using technology, allowing table tennis enthusiasts to have a gradual process during training. The difficulty in developing this arm like serving robot lies in causing the ball and racket to rub and produce the desired rotation, speed, and landing point. Using different movements to hit table tennis, the ball will generate different rotations. Our designed robot not only needs to control this rotation, but also needs to control the arm height and hitting trajectory. Therefore, Zhang Haibo, CEO of Shanghai Chuangyi Technology Co., Ltd., led the team to fully collect data and form an intelligent algorithm. Zhang Haibo stated that the robot uses a high-speed binocular vision system to analyze Xu Xin's ball path during playing, intelligently analyzes the collected data, and inputs it into the algorithm model to form an "AI Xu Xin", which can highly reproduce Xu Xin's hitting movements and ball trajectory. In the first round, it was easy to play, but in the second round, I couldn't catch its topspin switch, "said 9-year-old table tennis enthusiast Dong Ziqian after the match with" AI Xu Xin ". Alibaba Group President Dong Benhong stated that combining technology with the sports industry can provide more ways for sports participation and better cater to the sports preferences of young people.
