On the morning of September 25th, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council met with Syrian President Bashar in China to attend the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou at the Great Hall of the People. Li Qiang stated that China Syria friendship has a long history and the two countries are true friends who share the same boat through thick and thin. China is willing to work with Syria to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, promote continuous new achievements in bilateral cooperation, and better benefit the people of both countries. Li Qiang pointed out that China will continue to firmly support Syria in maintaining national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, following a development path that is in line with its own national conditions, and firmly oppose external interference in Syria's internal affairs. China welcomes Syria's participation in the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", and will continue to support Syria's reconstruction and recovery of development. China is willing to expand bilateral economic and trade exchanges with Syria, import more high-quality Syrian products, strengthen cultural and tourism, youth, local and other people to people exchanges and cooperation, and promote people to know each other. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Syria to effectively combat terrorism and maintain common security between both sides. The world today is not peaceful. Both sides need to further unite and cooperate, resist risks, oppose hegemony, defend international fairness and justice, and better safeguard the common interests of the two countries and the vast number of developing countries. Bashar congratulated China on successfully hosting the opening ceremony of the Hangzhou Asian Games and thanked China for its valuable assistance in supporting Syria's economic and social development, alleviating humanitarian crises, and providing earthquake relief. Bashar stated that China plays an important role in international affairs, and Syria China relations are increasingly consolidating and mutual trust is deepening.
