The exhibition "Long Leaping over the Guizhou Sea - The Triassic Ocean World of Guizhou", co hosted by the National Museum of Nature and the Guizhou Provincial Geological Museum, was held in the Sunshine Hall of the National Museum of Nature in Beijing on September 19th, 2023 to March 17th, 2024. On September 19th, in Beijing, the exhibition "Dragon Leaping over the Guizhou Sea - the Triassic Ocean World of Guizhou" jointly organized by the National Museum of Nature and the Guizhou Provincial Geological Museum was held at the National Museum of Nature. The exhibition showcases a total of 50 fossil specimens of ichthyosaurs such as Deng's Guizhou ichthyosaurus, Guanling ichthyosaurus, and Hu's Guizhou ichthyosaurus. According to Liu Shuang, an assistant researcher at the National Museum of Natural History, the biggest attraction of this exhibition is the famous prehistoric marine reptile - ichthyosaurus. As an animal that appeared in the early Triassic period, ichthyosaurs gradually evolved into a large and legendary family over the next 100 million years, and eventually became extinct 93 million years ago. As products of ecological and environmental changes, their evolution, development, and extinction are closely related to environmental changes, and are a vivid and vivid history of the interaction between organisms and the environment. This exhibition showcases 50 rich, unique, and beautifully preserved ichthyosaurus fossil specimens, including Deng's Guizhou ichthyosaurus, Guanling ichthyosaurus, and Hu's Guizhou ichthyosaurus. By integrating various modern audio-visual forms such as display boards and multimedia videos, the audience is introduced to the knowledge of paleontology such as ichthyosaurs from all aspects and perspectives, showcasing the exploration process and research methods of scientists discovering fossils such as ichthyosaurs, and revealing the evolution of marine life and changes in the ecological environment during the Triassic period. At the same time, the exhibition takes into account both scientific and artistic aspects.
