2023-09-19

According to the Russian National Space Group, astronauts aboard the Russian Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft have entered the International Space Station. At 18:44 Moscow time on September 15th, the Soyuz 2.1a rocket carrying spacecraft was launched from the Baikonur 31 launch pad. A few minutes later, the rocket sent the spacecraft into low Earth orbit, and the spacecraft flew alone to the International Space Station. The entire flight lasted for over 3 hours, and the spacecraft docked with the space station at 21:53. Russian astronauts plan to conduct approximately 60 scientific experiments, including 7 new experiments and 4 spacewalks. The Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft carries Russian astronauts Oleg Kononenko, Nikolai Chub, and American astronaut Laura O'Hara. Captain Kononinko made his fifth flight, while Chubu and O'Hara made their first flight into space. It is expected that Kongnienko and Chubu will spend a year on the space station. The total duration of Kono's four flights exceeds 736 days, making it the first person in the world to spend over 1000 days in space after this expedition. By the end of the mission, his total time in orbit will reach 1111 days. Kononenko himself has repeatedly stated that he flies for work, not to set records, and space is not a sports field set up to hold such competitions. (New News Agency)
