The opening ceremony of the joint training of the China Singapore "Cooperation 2023" Army was held on the afternoon of the 6th at the Jurong Camp of the 3rd Division of the Singapore Army, with over 280 officers and soldiers from the two armies participating in the ceremony. This is the fourth time since 2019 that the Chinese and New Zealand armies have organized the "Cooperation" series of joint training. At the ceremony, the officers and soldiers participating in the training of the two armies lined up neatly and received a review from the joint training commanders of China and Singapore. The Chinese joint training commander stated in his speech that both sides have dispatched elite forces to conduct skill exchanges and comprehensive exercises around joint urban counter-terrorism operations. He hopes that through this joint training, exchanges and mutual learning can be strengthened, practical combat capabilities can be honed, and the joint training cooperation mechanism can be improved to play a positive role in maintaining regional peace and stability. The commander of the New Zealand Joint Training stated that since the first Sino Singapore "Cooperation 2009" Army Joint Training was held in Guilin in 2009, the two armies have continuously strengthened exchanges and held multiple joint training sessions. The New Zealand side hopes to further increase mutual trust and consolidate the close and friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries through the "Cooperation" series of joint exercises and training. It is understood that this joint training is themed on "Joint Urban Counter Terrorism Operations" and is divided into two stages: mixed training and live combat comprehensive exercises. The mixed training is conducted according to professional courses such as skill training, equipment operation and use, multiple weapons live fire shooting, command post joint exercises, and live combat exercises. The aim is to strengthen technical and tactical exchanges, lay a solid foundation for mutual trust between the two armies, and enhance traditional friendship between the two countries. During the joint training period, both sides will also organize basketball friendly matches, cultural performances and other exchange activities to further enhance the friendly friendship between the two armies.
