Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, August 31 (Reporter Gu Tiancheng) - The National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention has recently issued the "Management Measures for Risk Assessment of Infectious Diseases and Epidemics (Trial)", which proposes the establishment of a multi department consultation mechanism and risk assessment expert group based on the principles of local management, multi-party participation, scientific evidence based, and timely and efficient. The work mode, main processes, and output application of risk assessment of infectious diseases and epidemics have been standardized. The method has a total of 17 clauses, mainly focusing on preventing and resolving the risk of infectious diseases from four aspects: legal basis and work principles, responsibilities and division of labor, frequency and method content of situations, policies and guarantees, further strengthening the internal business management of the disease control system, and refining and implementing specific requirements for risk assessment of infectious diseases. Risk assessment is an important means to enhance the early monitoring and warning capabilities of infectious disease outbreaks, and to prevent and resolve public health risks. The method is clear, and disease prevention and control institutions at all levels should regularly conduct daily risk assessments. National and provincial disease prevention and control institutions conduct daily risk assessments once a week, and municipal and county-level disease prevention and control institutions conduct monthly assessments. The frequency of daily risk assessment can be dynamically adjusted based on the development trend of the epidemic and work needs. According to the method, when the following abnormal situations are found in routine monitoring or daily risk assessment, local disease prevention and control institutions should conduct a special risk assessment, including: discovering new and sudden acute infectious diseases, Class A or statutory infectious diseases managed according to Class A; Infectious diseases that have occurred abroad but have not yet occurred domestically are imported into China and spread locally; The common epidemic pattern of infectious diseases has changed significantly, the incidence rate or mortality rate has increased abnormally, or the regional distribution has expanded significantly; Discovering a group of unexplained diseases, or two or more clustered severe and fatal cases.
