The plenary session of the Third China Africa Peace and Security Forum was held in Beijing on the 29th, with the theme of "Implementing Global Security Initiatives and Strengthening China Africa Unity and Cooperation". State Councilor and Minister of Defense Li Shangfu attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech. Li Shangfu said that the world has entered a new period of turbulence and transformation, and human society is facing unprecedented challenges. China is willing to work with Africa to promote traditional friendship, work together to promote the implementation of global security initiatives in China Africa cooperation, jointly address security challenges, defend international fairness and justice, and inject more certainty, stability, and positive energy into the world. China and Africa should deeply implement the important consensus of leaders, strengthen strategic communication and practical cooperation, further improve the quality and efficiency of security cooperation, and make new and greater contributions to maintaining regional and global security. Representatives of African countries spoke on topics such as peace and security in Africa, maritime security in Africa, counter-terrorism situation in Africa, and the situation in the Horn of Africa. The representatives expressed sincere gratitude to China for its strong support for peace and security construction in Africa, and looked forward to further strengthening mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation with China, striving to create a better future for the people of Africa and China. On the same day, Li Shangfu met with defense department leaders from Senegal, Comoros, Congo, Cameroon, Ghana, Zambia, South Sudan, Gambia, Mauritania, Uganda and other countries attending the forum, as well as the Political Affairs and Peace Security Committee of the African Union Commission.
